Saving & Recalling Presets does not work properly
If recalled presets don't reflect the values you saved, check the following:
- Blackmagic cameras: before saving a preset, nudge each setting once in Middle Control, ATEM Software Control, or via your joystick mapping. For example, to register white balance, move it from 3200K → 3100K → 3200K before saving the preset.
- Blackmagic cameras: recording a focus position immediately after an autofocus trigger is not supported. Adjust focus manually before saving a preset.
- Blackmagic cameras: changes made directly on the camera body are not registered. Adjust settings via ATEM Software Control or Middle Control before saving.
The preset is applied, then the values change back
If the camera visibly reaches the preset and then drifts back a second or two later, the switcher is overriding it. With ATEM Link on, the ATEM keeps its own gain, iris, white balance, tint and shutter values and re-sends them to the camera on its own.
- Update Middle Control. In Middle Control 4.0 or above, recalling a preset also updates the switcher's stored values, so the recalled look holds. Shutter is still applied to the camera only.
- On earlier versions, the workaround is to turn ATEM Link off before recalling, or to move the same settings once from the ATEM or a control panel so the switcher stores them.
- This only affects the parameters ATEM camera control handles. Zoom, focus position and gimbal moves are never overridden this way.
