Z CAM Cameras

Middle Control controls the Z CAM E2 box-camera line-up and the P2-R1N PTZ camera directly over Ethernet — no APC-R or additional hardware required.

Connecting the camera to Middle Control​

Connect the Z CAM to the same network as your computer over Ethernet. There is nothing special to enable on the camera — Middle Control finds it automatically on the network.

How to Connect your Camera​

  1. Connect the camera to the same network as the computer running Middle Control.
  2. The camera appears automatically in the left sidebar under Scanned — click + to add it. If it doesn't show up, add it manually by IP address.
  3. Pairing is instant — no username or password.
  4. Click the camera in the sidebar and assign a Camera ID.

Controlling your Camera​

Select the camera's ID on the Camera Page to drive exposure, focus, recording, and monitoring, with Live View streamed into Middle Control. The exact settings depend on the model — see the compatibility page.

With Middle Control Pro, Z CAM cameras integrate into your ATEM workflow via ATEM Link.

Quick Troubleshooting​

  • "Session busy" when adding the camera — another controller or app is holding the Z CAM's control session. Close it and add the camera again.
  • The camera rejects the video login — delete the camera from Middle Control and pair it again.
