OBSBOT Cameras

Middle Control controls the OBSBOT Tail Air and Tail 2 PTZ cameras directly over Wi-Fi or Ethernet — no APC-R or additional hardware required.

Connecting the camera to Middle Control​

Set up the camera first​

Use the OBSBOT app to get the camera on your network and streaming:

  1. Connect the camera to your network — Wi-Fi or Ethernet (wired is more reliable for Live View).
  2. In the OBSBOT app, open Settings (…) → Output and set RTSP Mode to On. An OBSBOT streams one protocol at a time, so enabling RTSP turns off NDI / SRT output.
  3. Middle Control sets the Live View stream itself (1080p30, 25 Mbps), so there's no need to set the bitrate or resolution in the OBSBOT app.

How to Connect your Camera​

  1. In Middle Control, the camera appears in the left sidebar under Scanned — click + to add it. If it doesn't show up, add it manually by IP address.
  2. Pairing is instant — no username or password.
  3. Click the camera in the sidebar and assign a Camera ID.

Controlling your Camera​

Drive pan / tilt / zoom from the Motion Page, and exposure, focus, and recording from the Camera Page. The exact settings depend on the model — see the compatibility page.

Save and recall the full look — ISO, white balance and focus — as Presets. OBSBOT's own AI Tracking (subject tracking) and a re-center control are available from the Motion Page.

Quick Troubleshooting​

  • No Live View — check RTSP Mode is On in the OBSBOT app (enabling NDI or SRT switches it off again).
  • Camera not in the Scanned list — add it manually by IP; you can find the address in the OBSBOT app.
