Direct Nikon camera control isn't supported in Middle Control yet — it's a camera family we're actively investigating. There's no firmware or release date to announce, but the more we hear which bodies people use, the sooner we can prioritise it.
What works today
While direct control is still being explored, you can already drive Record Start / Stop and center focus on a Nikon body mounted on a DJI RS gimbal, using the DJI Camera Control Cable through an APC-R / APC-R Mini. See Other Cameras for that gimbal-relay workflow.
