One Rugged Cable

Video, return and control — one fiber cable.

The Fiber Camera Boxes convert your Camera's SDI OUT signal and receive an SDI Return Program (which also embed camera control, tally, intercom for Blackmagic Cameras) through the same fiber cable. The PTZ versions add a 1Gb LAN lane on top of the two video channels, so a remote head gets its feed, its return and its IP control down the same cable.

Turn any camera into a fiber camera.

The Fiber Camera Box clamps onto the V-Lock and merges the camera's 12G-SDI feed and its program return into one lightweight optical fiber — immune to interference and good for kilometres without a repeater. A compact aluminium body, powered straight off the camera over D-Tap, with full Blackmagic camera control and talkback down the same strand.

Why fiber

Simplify your multi-camera workflows.

While coaxial BNC has been the broadcast cable for fifty years, optical fiber can provide many advantages over copper.

Lighter than a feather

A 100 m fiber drum is a fraction of the weight of the equivalent BNC reel. Less bulkiness and more cables in the cable pass-through.
Immune to interference

Photons don't care about LED walls, lighting dimmers, RF mics, or badly grounded transformers. Fiber pulls a clean signal through any electromagnetic mess.
Long distance

BNC tops out at ~80 m for 12G. Single-mode fiber runs for thousands of metres with zero amplification and zero dropouts. Across a campus, between two trucks, or down a stadium tunnel.
Future-proof past 12G

The same single-mode strand carrying your 12G-SDI today will carry 24G or 100G IP tomorrow — just swap the boxes at the ends. The infrastructure stays.

The Neutrik OpticalCON Duo connector makes the Camera Box compatible with widespread LC / LC fiber cables, as well as the rugged OpticalCON Duo & Duo Lite cables by Neutrik, designed for field use and tough handling.

OpticalCON Duo Advanced

Two LC cores in a ruggedised housing. The day-to-day workhorse built to withstand weekly intensive use. The connector has a built-in automatic shutter that protects the fiber cores as soon as the cable is disconnected. Highest durability of all three.
